2005 Finish: 9-7, 3 rd Place NFC East

While their record doesn't show much improvement over Bill Parcell's tenure in Dallas, surely the Cowboy team is much better than they were in the era prior to the Big Tuna. Tony Romo, despite his playoff field goal holding destruction, looks like the real deal, and should benefit greatly from Parcells moving on, as that constant ire of his head coach is almost certainly gone. With Parcells departure, a certain wide receiver in Dallas just got a lot happier, as it was easy to see Bill tried to assert his rule over the unmentioned wide receiver. With yet another season ending in a playoff loss, the Cowboys have to be looking for a top spot in the NFC, and God forbid, a playoff victory. With Tony Romo using his plethora of weapons, Marion Barber, TO, Terry Glenn, Julius Jones, Jason Witten, a machine gun, etc., the Cowboys should be on the fast track to success in a tough NFC West.

Recent Records:

2004: 6-10 2005: 9-7 2006: 9-7

Off-Season Plans:

Thus far, the Cowboys have signed a couple big name guys in free agency, including Leonard Davis (the mammoth offensive lineman from the Arizona Cardinals) and back up grayhawk, Brad Johnson. Also, the entire Cowboy coaching staff has been revamped, going from the consistently sarcastic and bossy Bill to players coach Wade Phillips, former Cowboy quarterback Jason Garrett, and a plethora of other young guns, that should add some creativity, and if nothing else an all out different feel from what Dallas has been in the recent future. As far as the draft is concerned, the Cowboys are definitely in the running for a quality cover corner, as Pro-Bowler, Roy Williams has shown covering receivers isn't his forte. So right now, I have Dallas plucking Texas defensive back, Michael Griffin off the board, but depending on who falls, and if the Boys sign any safeties in free agency, Dallas definitely has the talent on both sides of the ball that would allow them to go with the best player on their board approach.
