UFC 78 Validation - UFC Betting Preview
Brought to you by Stan Leung UFC Betting - MMA Betting - UFC Match Ups ![]() Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping Evans is a far superior wrestler but no where near as good in jujitsu. Should he take Bisping down, Michael will be able to pull guard and defend the ground and pound. This will not be an easy fight but take Bisping with a good payout at +210 due to the fact he is a more polished and seasoned MMA fighter. Karo Parisyan vs. Ryo Chonan Parisyan has superior judo throws and he really wants to make a statement for a UFC welterweight title shot. Look for a hard fought battle with The Heat winner by decision. Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva Alexander has not faced a fighter will all round skill like Thiago Silva. Alexander will not be expecting knees and Silva will be able to hold him off with a superior ground game as Silva has a BJJ Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt as well. Spencer Fisher vs. Frank Edgar Frank Edgar is a machine and looks to have a very bright MMA career. He has very impressive wins over Mark Bocek and hard hitting Tyson Griffin. Frank Edgar has all the tools to be a great fighter due to Fishers inconsistencies and lack of preparation I would take Edgar for a second round TKO upset. Ed Herman vs. Joe Doerksen The problem with Doerksen is that he loses to top level fighters like Paulo Filho, Nathan Marquardt, Matt Lindland, Joe Riggs, David Loiseau, Egan Inoue, and Matt Hughes. But is Ed Herman a top level fighter yet? I’d have to say no. Their fight was 3 years ago but he has not raised his game in my opinion to beat a crafty veteran like Doerksen. Doerksen has an incredible ground game and he will be able to position themselves against a wrestler turned submission fighter. Take Doerksen with another submission in the second round Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory Akihiro Gonohas fought many tough opponents, with losses to such fighters as Mauricio Rua, Dan Henderson, Matt Hughes, and Yuki Kondo. Tamdan “The Barn Cat” McCrory is very strong for a 170 pound fighter and he has good hands but he has not fought someone with Gono experience. Gono is a great fighter and look for him to press the attack and KO McCrory early. His nickname says it all. Chris Lytle vs. Thiago Pitbull Alves Both Lytle and Alves has fast strong hands and this should great fight in the stand up. Lytle has more speed and technique but Alves has more power. On the ground both are equal but I give the slight edge to Lytle in technique. This will be the fight of the night but I have to give this fight to Lytle who is more experienced and slightly better in all categories than Alves is. Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt Joe Lauzon has fought a lot of fights and beaten some top names like Jens Pulver. Jason Reinhardt is 18-0 and has a solid wrestling background. He is very powerful but is undersized. Lauzon will be able to use his reach and technique to jab and keep Reinhardt off him. His power and size will give Reinhard his first loss. Marcus Aurelio vs. Luke Caudillo Marcus Aurelio has great BJJ skills under the Carlson Gracie lineage and his stand up skills are incredible since he has started training at ATT. His Brazilian Jujitsu are off the chart and he will want to make a statement after his loss to Guida. This fight will be over quick with either a submission or KO by Aurelio Last edited by bigfinger : 11-12-2007 at 10:37 PM. Reason: No Affiliate Codes |
