Green Bay Packers @ Kansas City Chiefs – Carolina Panthers @ Houston Texans

Green Bay Packers (-13.5) @ Kansas City Chiefs
The Packers are still elite without Greg Jennings, don’t you worry your pretty little head about it. Anytime a two-touchdown spread shows up in the NFL, it’s something to question. Games can get close late, and it’s just a fact that Green Bay’s defense has found plenty of ways to give up points this year – but against a team with no passing or rushing attack to hang their hats on? The first game after their coach got ousted last week (definitely because they sucked so bad the first 14 weeks)… Yeah, I don’t see this game being close.
Did I mention that there will be a quarterback change under Romeo Crennel (now the coach of the Chiefs?). I know that coaching changes can sometimes impact a team in a good way, and these are very talented professionals – but the Chiefs have been hurt all year, and changing coaches isn’t going to make them healthy. Packers, easy.
Carolina Panthers @ Houston Texans (-6)
The Carolina Panthers are an interesting squad – on a quarter to quarter basis they can put up points quick, stop opponents, and grab a big lead or comeback from a big dificit. But one thing remains the same, and that’s the fact that they usually find ways to lose. Cam Newton has been great, at times, flashes of brilliance… But his lack of consistency always hurts the Panthers, and that’s why they’re back in the Top 10 for next year’s draft. The Texans are way too good rushing the football – the spread should be covered.
