Week 9 NFL Free Picks 49ers @ Redskins, Jets @ Bills, Seahawks @ Cowboys

San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) @ Washington Redskins
The 49ers are a “sure-thing” this week going up against John Beck and those pesky Washington Redskins… right? Right?!? Hey, nothing is a sure thing in the NFL, the Saints made that abundantly clear when Steven Jackson and Chris Long teamed up to beat them last week. Lots of things point to the 49ers walking away with an easy win in Washington, not just records. The Redskins turn the ball over a lot, and the 49ers have a defense that’s ready and willing to take advantage of those turnovers. Offensively the 49ers are sound – they don’t make big mistakes or take lots of chances, but they have playmakers to get the job done. John Beck will be terrorized by turnovers again, and the 49ers should win. But… NOTHING is a guarantee in the league, and this one smells of a trap game. Still, have to take the Niners or nothing!
New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills (-1)
The Jets might be the more dangerous of these two teams, and I was very close to taking them – but I just think the Bills are too consistent offensively and have too many ways to beat the Jets shaky run defense. Fred Jackson has been a legit All-Pro runner through the first half of the season, and he should continue to put up numbers in Buffalo on Sunday. The Jets may need this game more, but Buffalo looks like the better team to me.
Seattle Seahawks (+12.5) @ Dallas Cowboys
The Seahawks are a lot better with Tarvaris Jackson running the show (than Whitehurst anyway) and he should do enough to keep the Hawks in it. They haven’t historically been very good on the road, and it’s possible that Dallas comes out on gung-ho-crazy-style after getting handled by the Eagles, but I don’t see it. The Cowboys make a lot of mistakes to like them giving nearly two touchdowns. I’ll take the points.
