Week 9 2011 Green Bay Packers @ San Diego Chargers NFL Free Pick

Week 9 2011 Green Bay Packers @ San Diego Chargers NFL Free Pick: The Packers are a force and San Diego hasn’t been able to finish the job when they do move the ball into the red zone. Green Bay might be a little overrated, but shoot, the Chargers seem to be as well. Aaron Rodgers is coming off a bye, so this will be the first time all season that he’s coming off a week where he didn’t throw the ball amazingly the week before. Can we call that rusty?

The bottom line is that Green Bay really doesn’t have a rushing attack and sooner or later that is going to grab them by the gotcha and get them beat. But it’s hard to see that happening this week in San Diego. I know the Chargers have won before, and they have been an explosive team that can take advantage of Green Bay’s sloppy defense from time to time – but they are a little dinged up on the line and at RB, and Rivers isn’t at his best. In the secondary I just don’t think anybody in the league can shut down Rodgers and company.

It was a tough call, this game. The Chargers are good enough to win if they just don’t turn the ball over and convert in the red zone. But they haven’t done either all year. Go for the anomaly in Week 9 or expect the norm to take place? I’m betting on the same ol’ same to keep on keeping on.
