Week 10 NFL Free Picks Saints @ Falcons – Steelers @ Bengals

November 12, 2011 by

New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons (pk)
I think these two teams are pretty even, except that Atlanta has a better rushing attack. Julio Jones isn’t quite as crazy amazing as he was last week with his 3 catches, but he’s a bigger threat than I thought he’d be. I think Roddy White gets healthier every week, and Turner might not be as explosive as he once was, but he’s getting the job done. I know Drew Brees is great, and he’s really tough to bet against, no doubt – I just think the Falcons have a pretty tough run defense and the Saints have struggled when getting their run-game shut down. Tough call on this one, but the even number has me taking the home team.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Steelers could get all bummed out that they lost last week in the last seconds because of their own terrible defensive strategy and lose to the Bengals – or they could play them tough and knock out a tight win against a tough defensive squad. I think they’ll get the win – and I think this is a pretty even play. I can see both sides. I actually guessed this spread right on (that’s what I do before I make picks). That being said, I just think the Steelers have a little bit better team with a little more to lose considering the Bengals’ window is just starting to see light. The Steelers are a little older – and I think that means something in this one.
