Thursday Night College Football Free Picks for Week 12 NCAA

Southern Miss Golden Eagles (-23) @ UAB Blazers (Thu)

I’m feeling wary over the line for the Southern Miss game, as the Golden Eagles haven’t been more than a 13.5 point favorite since they played Southern Louisiana on September 17th, that’s a long time ago… Still, tough to go against a Southern Miss team that is rock-em-sock-em robots solid right now. They had a tough game last time out, barely skipping by Central Florida, but they should pretty easily dominate the Blazers. Still, 23 is a lot. I’m sticking with the big favorite, but I’m not in love with it.

North Carolina Tar Heels @ Virginia Tech Hokies (+35) (Thu)

The Tar Heels have dropped 3 of their last 4 games after starting the season off 5-1. Maybe that’s because they have started to play good football teams. There 5-1 start probably didn’t justify who they really were. Their best win in those 6 games came against Virginia? East Carolina? Louisville? Rutgers? Not many wins there worth writing home about. What I’m saying is, they’ve lost 3 of their last 4, and that’s because they’ve played some solid teams – Miami, Clemson, NC State (okay, the Wolfpack aren’t very good, but they did shut out the Heels a couple weeks ago). The bottom line here is that Virginia Tech is a good team. They are better defensively than the Heels, much better, and that should be worth 2 touchdowns on Thursday Night at home in Blacksburg.
