South Florida Bulls @ Syracuse Orange Friday Night Free Football Pick: South Florida and Syracuse are very similar, Syracuse is just a little less athletic probably. But The Orange are great at home (great, in this case, means they are much better whilst at home than they are on the road) while South Florida has stunk it up on the road since Week 1’s surprise win over Notre Dame. You want proof, I know, so here it goes. The South Florida Bulls are all of 1-3 on the road compared to 3-1 at home. The Orangies (I know they are called the Orange) are 4-1 at home and 3-1 on the road. That’s 4-4 visiting 5-4 from one perspective, but when you look at it from my point of view, that’s 1-3 visiting 4-1… Looking better now, right?

The scary thing here is that all the other numbers point to Syracuse having a real tough time with the Bulls. South Florida scores more points, allows fewer points, has a much better point differential (+9 compared to -.02), gains more yards, allows fewer yards and takes fewer penalties. But what are numbers if you don’t respect this game…. I mean, what about the Bulls losing 4 straight? The road woes. Syracuse’s solid young quarterback doing work.

Numbers shmumbers, I just see too much weight in playing at home in front of a packed stadium on Friday Night. Weekday games give a home team just a little more of an advantage than normal so I’ll take the home team and the points.
