New York Jets @ Denver Broncos Thursday Night NFL Free Picks: Remember the last time Tim Tebow went up against a very physical and explosive defense? Let me remind you, because if you’ve gotten caught up in the amazing 3-1 record (plus an almost impossible comeback against San Diego when he replaced Kyle Orton 5 weeks ago) Timothy has put together since taking the starting job this season, then you have probably forgotten about that Lions game.
Well, Denver hosted Detroit and the Broncos had a lot of momentum after coming back from the depths of defeat to snatch an overtime victory away from Miami (effectively ruing their chances to win the Andrew Luck sweepstakes). They started off with a field goal but that momentum didn’t last long as Tebow was under 50% passing for the game, getting sacked 7 times, throwing an interception, fumbling 3 times (losing one), and generally looking inept in every facet of the game.
I know the team is different now and they hardly throw the football a lick (going back to the olden days with Mr. Tebow at the helm), and maybe, just maybe, that will help them have a chance against a Jets team that just got beat up and embarrassed by the Patriots last week, but won’t the Jets take that away? This is a pretty smart defensive team with a pretty smart defensive coach – and a couple of corners that can basically man up any receivers the league has to offer. Something tells me this game will be more like the Detroit game… The Jets are too fast for Tebow to do them dirty.
