Free College Football Picks for Week 10 Thursday Night Matchups

November 3, 2011 by

I’ve picked two Thursday Night games this week, the big favorite and the small underdog – some guy once told me that formula was the one to use on weekday games, but who knows what that means. I’m pretty sure that number tricks like that don’t play out for any reason, so it’s not like a rest on that. But, this week, that’s exactly how I see them!

Florida State Seminoles (-14.5) @ Boston College Eagles (Thu)
The Seminoles have been a very good football team since E.J. Manuel healthy and playing quarterback. During their 3 game losing streak, Manuel wasn’t healthy and he was missing snaps at practice and in games because of it. Over the last 3 games he’s been up to his old tricks, and FSU is starting to play like the team many expected them to be. Just in time for you to cash in! The only think Boston College has going for them is playing at home on Thursday Night, and playing slow. Then again, without those explosive opportunities, when are they going to score? Florida State’s defense is legit, if the Eagles get past 10 I’ll be surprised.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane (+1.5) @ USC Knights (Thu)
Tulsa looks like the better football team to me. The Knights might be more talented, I always think they are going to maul teams based on their size up front defensively, but they just don’t get the job done as much as I expect. Still, even at 4-4, they average 13 more points than they give up, they are playing at home where they are 4-0, and they run the ball well. But Tulsa might run it better, and they certainly pass it a lot better, and they get more out of what they have. I think they win on the road. Remember, they have 3 losses, but those were to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Boise State. That’s basically 3 of the top 6 teams in the Nation right there. Give them some slack.
