Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears, New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers

Detroit Lions (+3) @ Chicago Bears
There’s a lot to like about the Lions in this one, they got a week off, they are getting healthier, they have a quarterback that can make all the throws and hurt that Chicago Tampa 2. They can’t really run it, however, so Chicago might be able to capitalize on Matt throwing the ball too much. The Bears have played up and down this year, but this has the makings of down. Chicago’s offensive line played great last week against Philly, but the pressure from Chicago is going to come straight up the middle at Jay – and it’s going to come fast – and that’s not good for Bear fans. It’ll be interesting, Matt Forte trying to run wild and Stafford trying to pierce the Bears’ bend but don’t break defense. Close game, but I’ll take the points.
New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers (-3)
I want to believe in the 49ers and that might be why I’m taking them here. Usually I don’t’ let my preferences get in the way, but the team is tough, and defensively they are going to make Eli Manning throw the ball 40 times – because they will stop a rushing attack from New York that is lacking explosive playmaking ability. Many expect the 49ers to stumble, and maybe I should agree, but I feel like the Giants are more likely to fall off. Eli Manning always struggles in the 2nd half and this is indeed the 2nd half. Frank Gore needs to have a big day, but if he’s over 100 yards, they win at home over NY.
