Oklahoma State Cowboys VS Texas Longhorns: Free 2011 NCAA Pick

Oklahoma State Cowboys VS Texas Longhorns – Free 2011 NCAA Pick: Listen, I completely understand the risk I’m taking here. I know that Texas went up against a big time talent last week (Oklahoma) and got trounced. They were outplayed in just about every single facet of the game, their quarterback duo looked lost in a big way, and they really couldn’t do much to stop an elite offense. This week, they go up against another really good football team, though OK State isn’t quite Oklahoma, they are still very impressive offensively and can make plays on D. Texas certainly has their hands full in the 2nd week of their toughest back-to-back. Oklahoma State is undefeated and they are averaging just about double the amount of points they’re giving up (51-27). Brandon Weeden has been very good, and the WR unit might be even more impressive, led by Justin Blackmon.

That being said, I think Texas plays a lot better this week. As with any young athlete, that big time failure in the limelight last week should give the Longhorn youngsters a little more understanding of how they need to play to win that kind of game. They will run the ball a lot better against a defense that isn’t quite as good as Oklahoma was. That will take some pressure off of the young QBs, and maybe they’ll make some plays.

Defensively, the Longhorns will play better -they are still plenty talented. Getting whooped like that in a rivalry game can do a lot of good things for a team moving forward, I guess I’m just banking on their head coach using that to their advantage this week.
