NFL Free ATS Picks for Week 7 2011 by Lucky Lester

San Diego Chargers @ New York Jets (+2)
The Chargers have looked a little questionable to me, but if we’re going on looks alone, I mean, it’s not like the Jets have been good either. They can’t score the football, look lost defensively, and have had teams running all over them. Maybe I believe too much in Rex’s past, but this kind of blah football rarely sticks to him, and thus I believe the Jets will turn it around soon. Rivers hasn’t had a great start to the season, and the Chargers seem to struggle scoring in the red-zone. It’ll be a close game, but I think the Jets find a way in New York.

Seattle Seahawks @ Cleveland Browns (-2.5)
The Hawks have played pretty well, even winning a game on the road two weeks ago – but then they rocked a bye week, and lost a little bit of that momentum. I think this one will be tight, but I’m not sold on Charlie Whitehurst, and I think the Browns short passing game could put up some points against Seattle’s soft secondary. Cleveland won’t be able to run the ball much, and Seattle could build on the performance they’ve gotten from their rushing attack – it’s all possible. But I just have a tough time betting the Seahawks to win two straight on the road.

Washington Redskins (+2.5) @ Carolina Panthers
The Redskins are an underrated football team, and because of Cam Newton’s hot start, the Panthers are seen as a pretty good squad – most ignore their 1-win record. The bottom line is, if the Redskins didn’t give the ball away a ton last week against the Eagles, they would have won that game too. They’d be 4-1 and in 1st place in the NFC East, apparently one of the best divisions in football. As is, they’re 3-2, soon to be 4-2 with a road win in Carolina. I actually LOVE this pick.
