Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears Sunday Night Free Football Pick

Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears Sunday Night Free Football Pick: The Minnesota Vikings have proven that they can compete without competent quarterback play – listen, I’m not trying to bash McNabb, because he’s one of my favorite players for a long time now, but he just hasn’t shown me much. He is less accurate than he’s ever been (and he’s never been terribly accurate), and he just can’t make a sure thing pass. No matter how open someone is, McNabb can find a way to get an incompletion… So, what I’m thinking here is that he can’t be this bad. McNabb might not be in his hay-day, but he has to be better than he’s been over the first 5 weeks. As soon as he shows up and stars keeping defenses honest, the Vikings might just reel off a winning streak that makes them relevant again. Maybe that starts this week, maybe it doesn’t.
It’s hard to go with the Bears against a heavy-pass-rush defense that can put consistent pressure on any opponent with a steady 4-man rush. That seems like Jay Cutler and company’s worst nightmare. Jared Allen already leads the league in sacks, and something tells me he won’t lose any ground on Sunday – unless one of his own guys beats him to the punch. I’ve heard many things about the Bears changing the game plan to protect Cutler – well, I like that even more from a Vikings perspective – they are good enough to beat up a team that is dumbing down their offense.
I haven’t seen the Bears doing a great job stopping the run, and now they are going up against the biggest beast in the business. Things could change, but the Vikings are my favorite to win in Chicago.
