Hawaii Warriors @ San Jose State Spartans Friday Night Football Pick

Hawaii Warriors @ San Jose State Spartans Friday Night Football Pick: The Warriors are the big favorite of the mid-week games, which usually is a good thing, so the fact that I’m going against them here means I really see something in the Spartans – either that or Hawaii’s going to prove my “Big Favorite, Small Dog” Thursday/Friday theory right and I’m going to lose twice… I certainly hope that’s not the case. If you’ve never heard that theory, basically the big favorite and the small dog (weekdays) are usually solid picks.

Hawaii puts the ball in the air a lot, and that’s good for some things (scoring lots of points) and bad for other things (clocking away a win). San Jose State is maybe a little better than their record (2-4) insists. They have played decent football at times this year, giving Nevada a scare, covering against BYU, beating a “decent” Colorado team (Colorado is bad). They don’t give up a ton of points or get blown out (sans Stanford who put up 50+ and blew them out easily).

I just happen to think this game is going to be a little closer than expected. Even though the Spartans played last week and this is a short notice game for them, Hawaii is traveling over the Pacific to play the Spartans – I’m willing to say that’s worse. I’ll take the dog in this Friday Night game.
