Free Point Spread Football Picks for Week 8 2011 NFL

Indianapolis Colts (+9) @ Tennessee Titans
The Colts need to win a game sometime, and this might just be their chance. Getting 9 points against the Titans – a team that can’t run and is suspect in the passing game – a team that overachieved up until a couple weeks ago, a team that is starting to fall back to reality as they all realize that they paid Chris Johnson way too much money to go down early, give a 64% effort, and twitch on the sidelines like Lil Wayne – that’s a cover for sure, right? Listen, Matty Hasselbeck was a good story early, but then poo started fan hunting, and there have been hits! Last week was embarrassing, and the Colts surely aren’t as bad as people think. Cover me up Indy!

Minnesota Vikings (+3) @ Carolina Panthers
The Vikings are the better team in this one, right? I know we have two rookie QBs, one coming in with much more hype than the other. Maybe Newton is much better than Christian Ponder, but the latter will ride a better rushing attack and a much better defense. I like the small upset here as the Vikings get back in the win column.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+10) @ Houston Texans
The Jaguars showed me enough defensively over the first few games to make them an interesting buy here getting 10 points. They can run the ball pretty well, putting up pretty solid statistics against everyone, and while Blaine Gabbert looks about as lost as any rookie QB in the league this year, he still seems to find ways to contribute – even if it is fading away on his back foot. Step up, rook, geeze… Still, it’s just the 10 points that I like, and I don’t like it all that much.
