Auburn Tigers VS Arkansas Razorbacks: 2011 NCAA Free Picks

October 8, 2011 by

The Auburn Tigers fought through the early season by sneaking by mediocre teams, and in the process they gained some momentum and became a pretty good football team. That confidence wasn’t quite enough against a really good Clemson Tigers team, but against everyone else, it’s been good. Like the Razorbacks, the Tigers are 4-1 half way through the college football season. Arkansas’ only loss was against Alabama, and they didn’t look good at all. But they are good, don’t get it twisted.

The main reason I like Arkansas to trounce the Tigers a big is because of their elite passing game and the Tigers’ struggle in the secondary. They’ve not seen anything like Arkansas, not even when Clemson put it to them pretty good in a 14 point win a few weeks ago.

A win over South Carolina last week showed that the Tigers could play against a physical football team and come out on top – but Arkansas is more than just physical, and I don’t think the Tigers of Auburn can match up against a passing attack that stresses your defense with verticals all game long.

In Auburn’s one loss, the were outpassed by 188 yards. They just couldn’t hang in there with that big of a difference. That number might get bested today as the Razorbacks might have a +200 game in them. I see a 3 score game, not as close as many expect.

Auburn Tigers @ Arkansas Razorbacks (-10)
