Oregon Ducks (-15) @ Arizona Wildcats
It’s in Arizona and it’s late, so at least the Wildcats have that going for them – they play well under the lights and at home. That being said, the Oregon Ducks are twice as good as the Wildcats and better than Stanford or Oklahoma State. Arizona allowed 37 to each of those two teams and their only win came against Northern Arizona. Now, I like what the Wildcats bring to the party, I just don’t think it could possibly be enough. They’ve showed they’re a level behind the elite and that’s exactly what Oregon is.
California Golden Bears (+1.5) @ Washington Huskies
This is an interesting one because, yes, I’ll admit it, the Huskies are a lot better than I thought they’d be, especially offensively. But I guess it makes sense, they have a much improved offensive line and they still have Chris Polk – plus I always thought Price did a really nice job when Locker went down. Defensively, they are still without an identity. Do you run or pass against them? Either, you’ll do just fine regardless.
Then again, I’m not crazy about Cal either – they have decent talent, but I think they get closer to the bottom of the Pac 10 every season. I just have a feeling about this one, that the Dawgs are ready to put up a stinker and Cal will just be in the right spot – plus, they always play their best football to start the season.
