Missouri Tigers @ Arizona State Sun Devils Friday Night Football Pick: The lower ranked team (Arizona State – 23rd) is favored by a touchdown over the higher ranked team (Missouri 19th). That is just one of the betting strategies I always use. It’s a formula, so before I did any studying of this selection, it was dang near an auto-pick for me. There’s just something about that, maybe the respect the Top 25 gets regardless of it’s validity (especially outside the Top 10) and how it effects the odds. There always seems to be great value on the favored squad.

I’m not sure there’s great value here. The Tigers underperformed in Week 1 and that might be swaying the power to the Sun Devils even though Arizona State played their opener against a Sub-division school.

What I do like about this pick is that Missouri took some tough knocks in a close game against Miami of Ohio, and because of that 5 productive players are listed as doubtful for the game in Arizona. Both teams have some injury woes, no doubt about that, but the Tigers look to be in a tougher spot headed into the Friday Night game. Also, Sun Devil stadium is a tough place to play.

This spread has already climbed to 8 in most places, and that makes things a little different – just tougher to beat a + touchdown spread. I still like ASU.
