LSU Tigers @ Mississippi State Bulldogs Thursday Night Football Pick: After trampling over Oregon (with some help from the Ducks turnover prone offense) the Tigers destroyed Northwestern State last week. Now, that 49-3 score isn’t saying much but the first win was pretty good. Still, this game is on the road, on the road on a Thursday where upsets are born, and there have to be some questions there. One thing is for sure, they have a very impressive defense, maybe the best in the Nation. I believe that Mississippi State has a better offense, both passing and running the football, but defensively they aren’t even close to the Tigers, and I think that’s enough for more than a field goal of separation.

I’m not enamored with the Tigers, but after watching the Bulldogs I’m even less impressed with them. I’m not gung-ho either way, but I know the Tigers can stop the Bulldogs, and I’m not so sure that the Bulldogs can stop any decent offense.

The books are begging people to take the Bulldogs in this one, that 3.5 is a good indicator – but I think they’re begging for good reason. Even on the road on a Thursday, my money’s on LSU.
