Green Bay Packers @ Carolina Panthers Week 2 Pick & Preview

Green Bay Packers @ Carolina Panthers Week 2 Pick & Preview: Alright, if Cam can carve up the Packers like he did the Cardinals then I’ll go buy this kid’s uniform and become a big time fan. I know Drew had his way around the Packers secondary last week, but I have a feeling that Green Bay will be sound enough against the run without stacking the line of scrimmage, shutting down some of those wide open spaces Mr. Newton saw last week against the Cardinals. 9.5 is a lot, but the Packers can manage – especially without Jon Beason dominating at LB. He was the best player on a young defense, and without him they’ll have even more trouble halting the air attack.

One think the Packers don’t have locked down is a rushing attack, but with Beason out of the middle and seeing what Beanie Wells did to the Panthers last week, Green Bay might just get rolling on the ground – if they run for 100 yards, I think this one is a laughing matter.

I’m still not buying the Panthers and Newton as some dynamic passing attack – sure, can Steve Smith get behind you and make plays all over the field? You bet – but is he going to do it enough to keep the Panthers in it this week against the Super Bowl Champs? That’s tough to foresee.

I like Green Bay to do anything they want offensively and play Cam straight up to see if he can impress again in Week 2.
