Boston Celtics @ Chicago Bulls TNT Thursday Free NBA Pick: The Celtics and Bulls have had a little rivalry going for a bit now, and it probably adds a little more fuel to the fire now that everyone is touting the Bulls as the best and toughest team in the East. The Celtics ex-assistant coach, and defensive guru, Tom Thibodeau has done wonders for the Bulls defensively, and with MVP favorite Derrick Rose running the show, they certainly look good against those aging and tired Celtics. But isn’t this about the time they start playing their best basketball. I wouldn’t count them out.

In fact, I’m counting them in. This is the type of statement game the Celtics have made a living winning, and despite thinking the Bulls do indeed have the best team in the East, I think this one goes the way of Boston.

Jermaine O’Neal, though not youthful or powerful as a post presence anymore, will give the Celtics enough size to slow the Bulls’ post game, and I think Boston’s defense will get turned up a notch, slowing the Bulls’ offensive attack.

People seem to be forgetting about Rajon Rondo these days, and this cat is still one of the best distributors in the league. I think he’ll have a nice game against Derrick Rose, making the favorite for MVP work hard on both sides of the floor.
