Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics Sunday Morning NBA Free Pick on ABC: The Heat have won 7 straight coming into Wednesday’s action after sneaking by the Indian Pacers on Tuesday night. At 38-14 the Heat were just one loss out of 1st place in the East coming into the week– so much for that slow start. Even with injuries in Miami, Bosh going down for a few games and Wade in and out with some health issues, this team is really starting to gel. That should be scary for the rest of basketball. And what do you know, after the week’s action, the Heat find themselves in first place in the East, even if it is by just a half game over the Celtics.

But they play Boston in this game, and the winners of this game will see themselves all alone in 1st place. The Celtics not only need this win to get back in first place, but they need a win bad. They have lost 2 in a row headed into Sunday, and 3 of their last 4. They are just 5-5 over their last 10 games – and this is just about as healthy as the Celtics have been this season. But this game is in Boston and the Celtics still boast a solid 23-5 home record.

The Heat have been pretty much rolling of late, winning 8 games in a row headed into Boston, and a win here would mark their 3rd win streak of 9 games or more this season. It would also mark the first time the Heat have beaten the Celtics since “The Decision”.

The Celtics have beaten the Heat in 9 of their last 10 match-ups, winning ATS in 8 of those 10 games. But the Heat are a little different now than they have been – and they are really looking forward to getting an important W any way that they can.

But I don’t think they will. These games still mean more to the Celtics than they do to the Heat, because that competitive nature in Boston is something that really drives them. It should be a close one, but I don’t see much value in betting against the Celtics when they’re an underdog at home. That just don’t make no sense.
