Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears NFC Divisional Playoffs Sunday

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears NFC Divisional Playoffs Sunday: Seattle is 8-9 on the season, 8-9 against the spread. One thing I love about Seattle is that they’ll need to win the Super Bowl to have a winning record at season’s end. Nobody has ever done what the Hawks are doing, never ever. In so many respects. But this team can beat Chicago, shoot, I think anybody can – and getting 10 points, that’s pretty intriguing.

Chicago is 11-5 on the season, 9-6-1 ATS. They are 5-3 at home on the season, having already lost to the Seahawks in Chicago earlier this season. But Chicago has played better down the stretch since they started playing a little safer, running the ball more, more screens, fewer chances. Still, turnovers are there to be had. Cutler throws about 1 per game.

Chicago averages 3 points more per game than their opponents, and that’s not much for an 11-win team. They’ve lost a couple big games late, but they won a couple as well. They have a great defense that will test Seattle. But this should be a low scoring affair.

I’ve said it much of the season, I don’t buy the Bears as a big favorite over anybody, really. They aren’t that good offensively, and as much of Chicago will admit, this Bear team might be one of the worst 2-seeds in recent NFC Playoff history. I love their defense, but Matt and the Hawks played well against it last time they visited Chicago. 10 points is a lot in a low-risk defensive football game, I have to go against my #1 rule and bet the Hawks in this one. But I still think they lose…
