Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders @ Miami-Ohio Redhawks GODADDY Bowl Pick

Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders @ Miami-Ohio Redhawks GODADDY Bowl Pick: The Miami-Ohio Redhawks are an interesting team. They actually ended the season averaging 3 points less per game than they gave up, which isn’t all that abnormal for a team like Middle Tennessee State with a record of 6-6. But the Redhawks were 9-4. I would usually say that they must be winning close games against mediocre teams then getting beat up by good teams – and there’s no reason to beat around the bush, so I’ll go ahead and say it – the Redhawks got beat up by every good team they faced outside of their last game against Northern Illinois. In that game, with their back-up quarterback, they stunned the Huskies with a 26-21 victory. It was their 5th straight win to end the season, and Austin Boucher (that back-up QB) threw for 333 yards and a touchdown. I don’t know how much playing without Zac Dysert actually hurts them.
But back to those 4 teams that whooped up on the Redhawks. Florida won the season opener 34-12. Missouri beat the Hawks 51-13. Cincinnati dropped 45 on Miami-Ohio while holding the Hawks to just 3, and Ohio won 34-13 in a blowout. Aside from that, the Redhawks had a really good season. Ha. But seriously, they did. Those were their only 4 losses of the season, after all.
Middle Tennessee State won 3 straight games to become bowl eligible and get to this match-up, but they didn’t beat anybody worth getting excited about. Thy were out-gained in yardage in 4 of their last 5 games, and not one of their quarterbacks has a positive touchdown to interception ratio. I’m not star-struck either way, not counting my money quite yet – and there has to be some reason Vegas is letting everyone take the Redhawks – but I can’t find it yet, so I’ll just try to win money with everyone else!
