Oklahoma State Sooners @ Arizona Wildcats Valero Alamo Bowl Pick

Oklahoma State Sooners @ Arizona Wildcats Valero Alamo Bowl Pick: This is a tough one for me because I see a very scrappy team from Arizona going up against a Sooners team that nobody in the country seems to give them a chance to beat. I actually think it will be a pretty close game throughout, I just happen to believe the Sooners will pull out the win, and taking this game by a touchdown or two wouldn’t surprise me.

Arizona ended the season in one heck of a tough fashion. They lost 4 straight games, but that doesn’t mean a whole lot to me because losses to Stanford, USC, Oregon, and ASU (in their in-state rivalry game) aren’t bad losses – especially when you consider how close most of those games were.

The Wildcats were up on the Oregon Ducks 19-14 going into halftime. They couldn’t stop Oregon’s quick-strike offense in the 2nd half, but they certainly gave the Ducks one hell of a scare. A field goal late in the 3rd mad that a 27-22 game late – but Oregon ended up being too much.

The Sooners can be very tough or very mediocre. The bottom line here is that Oklahoma has a much greater upside than the Wildcats, and that’s something I’m considering here. Rarely do the Sooners play in Bowl-games with as little on the line as this one, and I think they’ll flourish in that situation. They can really put up some points, and I don’t think Arizona can score with them if the Sooners are on their game.

The Sooners were 10-2 on the season and are ranked 14th headed into the Bowls. The Wildcats are 7-5 on the season, but played very well against some very good Pac-10 schools. It’ll be close, but I like OK State.
