NFL Week 15 Free Picks Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders: Oh you might want to disregard this pick, because half of me doesn’t know what the heck I’m doing betting against the Raiders in Oakland this weekend. I don’t even know what it stems from. Since Josh McDaniels left the Broncos have lost one game 13-43 and that game was against the worst team in football, the Arizona Cardinals. I guess I could be going for the “they have nowhere to go but up from here” cliché, but I don’t even know if I believe that. Now with Kyle Orton likely out, the Broncos will almost certainly turn to Tim Tebow – and quite honestly, I like “Tebow is Blessed” more than the last bogus reason I mentioned. This pick gets scarier the more I write it.

Oakland is a running powerhouse, but even more so against bad run defenses. They don’t get much worse against the run than Denver – the Broncos are ranked 31st in the NFL giving up 150.3 yards per game on the ground. They are 28th in total yards giving up and allow more points against than any other team in the league. Never good to rank 32nd in a league of 32 teams. The Raiders played pretty well offensively against Jacksonville and they beat up the Chargers in San Diego 2 weeks ago.

But both of these teams are on a bi of a slide. Denver’s slide may be 1-8 over their last 9, but the Raiders are 1-3 over their last 4 and while they’ve been solid offensively at time, their defense has remained generous throughout. The way Knowshon Moreno has been running for the Broncos I believe Denver can stick close to Oakland. We’ll see.
