NFL Week 14 Free Pick – Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans

NFL Week 14 Free Pick – Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans: A game that was expected to have divisional championship ramifications might end up booting one of these two teams out of a playoff spot when all is said and done. If Tennessee were to win on Thursday, the Colts would be 6-7 as would the Titans, and both would be looking at a far-fetched shot at the playoffs. Jacksonville could drop everything and start blowing it, but they haven’t yet, and the season is running out on both of the NFC South pre-season favorites.

The Titans come into Thursday’s home game losers of 5 straight – dropping games to San Diego, Miami, Washington, Houston, and Jacksonville. Two of the last three were at home, and each of the last two games seemed embarrassing – a 20-0 loss to the Texans and a 6-17 loss to Jacksonville. They haven’t scored an offensive touchdown in any of the last three games. It’s not looking good for the Titans.

Things aren’t much brighter in Indy as the NFL’s chosen one has seen his interception total climb into the Brett Favre/Jay Cutler zone. After 11 interceptions in the last 3 games, Peyton is up to 15 on the season. His quarterback rating has dropped below 90 for the first time in a long time. Too much pressure on him without a running game? Probably, but shouldn’t the perennial MVP favorite be able to handle it? Not with the O-line in shambles, I guess.

But this game comes down to Tennessee playing borderline terrible of late. Their defense hasn’t been that good, their offense has been worse than any in the league. Indy has to be able to beat that by a field goal.
