NFL Week 13 Picks Houston Texans @ Philadelphia Eagles

NFL Week 13 Picks Houston Texans @ Philadelphia Eagles: I love the Eagles, I’ve stated my opinion that they are quite possibly the best team in the NFL, and I would pick them heads up over every other team in the NFC for sure. That being said, they left Week 12’s game against the Bears with some kinks in their armor, a chip in their trophy.
The Eagles had trouble stopping anything the Bears threw (or ran) at them. Matt Forte pulled off some big runs as the Bears had one of the better rushing days of the season in one of their biggest games. Jay Cutler also found ways to pick the Eagles’ secondary apart. All that being said, the Eagles didn’t play all that well and had absolutely zero bounces go their way. The Bears played what looked like a flawless game for them, and they still only got the Eagles by 5 points. I think Philadelphia plays better this week.
But even playing better, I think 9 points is too expensive to bet on the Birds. The Texans are a pretty good football team – they find ways to lose, definitely, but they have strengths on offense that could test the Eagles for the 2nd week in a row. If Asante Samuel can’t play, the Eagles are in even more trouble with Andre Johnson ready to go after a couple punches in last week’s game.
The big thing here is the points, and the Texans rushing attack. If Houston can stop trying to pass early and rely on the run more, this game will be very close. With 9 points to spare, I don’t see how I can bet against the road dogs here.
Houston Texans (+9) @ Philadelphia Eagles (Thurs)
