Indianapolis Colts @ Oakland Raiders Free Week 16 NFL Pick

Indianapolis Colts @ Oakland Raiders Free Week 16 NFL Pick: The Colts, giving just 3 points, against Oakland? I mean, I know, they’ve lost a step, these Colts, but last time I checked they are still looking for a division title and a playoff spot, and they still have a guy named Peyton Manning and a couple pass rushers by the names Freeney and Mathis that should give Jason Campbell all sorts of bad dreams – and they are the Colts, playing the Raiders – 3 points? Come on.

I know, I know, the Raiders are a legit force this season. I see they’ve beaten the Chargers twice already this year, smoked Seattle, beat Kansas City, beat the Rams too! And they’ve been a much better home team (5-2) than a road team (2-5). This game going down at Oakland definitely helps them, and makes 32% of the betting public like them at home against Indy.

I’m just not sold. The Colts will do crazy things from time to time, and shut a run game down even though they are bad against the run, and even though their opponent’s run game is elite. Their secondary should throw a stick in Jason Campbell’s spokes – and I see him checking down without success on 3rd and long throughout the game.

Maybe I’m being nostalgic, expecting some late season magic from the Colts, expecting the Raiders to stumble down the stretch – maybe. Or maybe I’m just taking the better team with a returning starting running back and a team trying to catch fire late to find the playoffs. Maybe I’m just taking Peyton Manning giving a little tiny field goal. What ever I’m doing, I like it – I like my chances.
