Green Bay Packers @ New England Patriots Sunday Night Football Pick

Green Bay Packers @ New England Patriots Sunday Night Football Pick: Neither of the “Prime Time” games have betable spreads out yet. I assume the powers that be are waiting for the news on Aaron Rodgers, will he play or will he not, that is the question – and without a sure answer they don’t want New England backers guessing right and winning money because Aaron doesn’t play. It makes sense, but it makes it hard to pick a game – because Rodgers isn’t a sure thing and there’s no line to pick from anyway. But I still have a take and a prediction.
If Rodgers does play, I think the Patriots will still win by a touchdown to ten points. Defensively, and offensively, the injuries are getting to the Packers a little bit and that has been obvious, even before the Detroit Lions debacle where they lost their MVP and the game in fine 7-3 fashion. The opposite seems to be the case in New England where Tom Brady’s merry-men are getting healthier and stronger. The Patriots have really improved on the defensive side of the ball, and that has allowed New England (and their play callers/game designers) to take more chances. But they really are balanced, with BenJarvus Green-Ellis running hard between the tackles and Tom throwing dimes everywhere, this offense has been impossible to stop. Just ask the three best defenses in the league: Between Pittsburgh, the New York Jets, and Chicago – not one could even slow the Pats.
If Rodgers is out, I would take the Pats by as much as 14. That’s a huge spread, but remember, with Rodgers this team still doesn’t have a running game. Without him, the defense won’t have to key in on anything, just whip some tail.
Just take the Patriots.
