Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns NFL Week 16 Free Picks: It was hard not to take the Ravens here, as the public can admit. Shoot, 81% of the bettors are seeing a Baltimore Raven victory in Cleveland, and while I can’t possibly see that as a good sign, I also can’t find the reason Cleveland will cover and/or win this game. I know Cleveland can play well against tough teams, beating the Saints and Patriots, taking the Jets to overtime, and being a tough out in just about every game. They’ve lost by a touchdown or less in each of their last 4 losses, and they are 4-4 over their last 8 games, and they have Colt McCoy back at QB, a guy that just happens to be their best option at the QB spot, who knew? So maybe there are a few reasons to take the Browns, but I’m still siding with Baltimore.
The Ravens are 4-1 over their last 6 games with only a 3-point, last minute loss to the Steelers three weeks ago. I haven’t been real big on the Ravens offense of late, but now they seem to be getting back to what makes them good, and I’m buying in. Ray Rice has been a big part of the offense lately, and that makes the Ravens a more dangerous squad.
I know that Peyton Hillis had a big time game against the Ravens last time around, and they gave the Browns the cover in Baltimore – but I can’t see the Ravens and their very stubborn defense giving up a big game to the bull-dozer back when the throw shouldn’t be a big threat. I look for the Ravens to keep a close lead and win by 3-7 points – I just think I’m pretty safe giving three here.
