Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Texas A&M Aggies NCAA Football Week 12 Pick: I think that either one of these teams could win this game by 3 touchdowns and that’s always scary when you’re throwing your money out there. Both teams can put up a ton of points in a hurry which is why both of them (if you round to the nearest whole number) average 35 points per game. Defensively, they’ve been alright, especially playing in the Big 12 where points are measured in tons and scoreboards get tested every week. Nebraska gives up 17.5 points per game while Texas A&M gives up just a hair over 22.

This game comes down to a couple things, because, like I said, both teams are very equal and explosive. The Aggies ability to play well against good teams (losing by a late touchdown against Arkansas and dropping their game at Oklahoma State by a field goal) is a big part of why I think the upset is coming in Texas.

But more than anything, it’s the direction these two teams have been moving in. While Nebraska continues to win football games, they’ve struggled a bit of late. They needed overtime to beat the Iowa State Cyclones by a single point, and they could only manage 20 points against Kansas in a game that won 20-3. Both wins, but the level of competition should give us more from the Cornhuskers.

Texas A&M on the other hand, they’ve been beating up on good teams over their last 4 games, or ever since they made the move at quarterback to Ryan Tannehill. The former receiver has been much more consistent, accurate, and mistake free than Jerrod Johnson was, and it’s really paid off for this football team. Tannehill took over partway through the Kansas game, and counting that 45-10 win, they are 4-0 since. They’ve beaten and covered easily against Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Baylor since trouncing the Jayhawks. I guess I’m jumping on the Tannehill bandwagon, because with consistency, this explosive offense is just that much more impressive.
