Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars Free Pick & Preview

Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars Free Pick & Preview: Excuse me if I believe I know better than to believe in the Jacksonville Jaguars – but I’ve seen it too many times, and no, the Jaguars aren’t going to get me again. The Browns, at 3-6, still look to me like they are the better football team, but a really tough schedule has them with just 3 wins this season. The Jaguars are 5-4, but they are scoring a touchdown less per game than they’re giving up, and eventually, the reality brings the ruckus, and that’s going to slay the Jaguars.

Cleveland has played very good football this season, especially with Colt McCoy at the helm – as the former Texas Longhorn has shown his leadership and poise, the same assets that helped him excel in college. Oh, and that accuracy – Colt throws it early, giving his receivers room to make the catch without getting hit. Against Jacksonville’s secondary, that room should be even more plentiful.

But the Browns aren’t going to win this game through the air, at least that’s not how I see it going down. They are going to win it with Peyton Hillis, the pile driving running back that should out-physical the Jaguars defense. Cleveland runs the ball against anyone, but I just don’t see the Jaguars being able to slow Hillis.

Cleveland’s only losses this season are against teams over .500 – and they’ve beaten New Orleans and Pittsburgh – yeah, they’ve had a tough schedule. While the Jaguars are hot, winners of 2 in a row, they aren’t as good as any of those teams the Browns have lost to – the Browns are the better team and the Jaguars are bound to even out – sounds like a Cleveland bet to me!
