Pittsburgh Panthers @ West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball Pick

Pittsburgh Panthers @ West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball Pick: Oh yes, the glorious Big East basketball conference is shaping up real nice like. It seems like any one of the top twelve teams can beat any one else in the conference any night. Of course Syracuse isn’t losing that often, but don’t give them too much street cred, there time will come. The key is, finding a reason, a shortcut, a little angel on a shoulder of the right guy that knows which one of these teams will beat the other on any given night. And here comes my logical reasoning…
Pittsburgh was one of the most surprising teams in college basketball to start the season. Despite their three headed star-power monster heading out in graduation, or the NBA, the Panthers did work in the early going, starting the year 15-2 and 5-0 in Big East play. But all of a sudden, reality has set in, and there’s no DeJuan Blair or Sam Young to go to. The Panthers have lost 3 of their last 4 games, including big in-conference losses to South Florida (currently 9th in the Big East) and Seton Hall (currently 13th in the Big East). Like I said, anyone, any night… But that doesn’t mean they’re bad, does it? I mean, this is still a team that beat UConn, Syracuse, and Cincinnait, all on the road, all in a row.
I know West Virginia is legit, but in the Big East, legit doesn’t mean you win. Pittsburgh still has lots of heart, a very good coach, and players that know how to win. Bad things come in threes and the Panthers have already lost 3 of their last 4 – the three is over! I think they play well in West Virginia, as they’ve played solid on the road this season. Good enough to win? Maybe – good enough to cover? You bet!
